Drive It Day

Doing what Morganeers do (second) best!
On a less than promising day a few OxMoggers, Dick & Lorraine, Bridget & John, Sue & John, Keith & Rita, Elaine & Mike together with Lynne & Andy from Thames Valley Centre, met at the King William IV at Speen. We enjoyed each others company and a lovely meal before venturing to Bradenham to view the 'Orchard' as part of the National Trust Open Day for Bradenham Manor.

Happy St Georges Day!
The weather had done its worst on the Orchard so a little less than impressive. However the day remained dry (for us at least) and the heavens opened with avengence as I closed the garage door!

Morgans at The Rock

April 1st started the season at the Rock of Gibraltar pub, Enslow with the 5th Mogs @ the Rock. We had 3 narrowboats and 14 Morgans there so it was possibly the best yet, even the weather being kind.

In the morning the early birds had a trip on The Great Escape down the canal, through Baker’s lock onto the River Cherwell and back to the winding hole before returning to the Rock where 28 of us sat down for lunch. We had a collection after lunch for MYELOMA UK in memory of Bob Wakely whose penultimate trip in Chiswick was to bring her up last year. Over £50 was raised.

After lunch Kings Vanquish conducted the second trip, Chiswick being unable to do a trip this year as the winding hole was so silted up that it had taken Esther nearly 1 hour to turn her on Saturday evening.

Thanks to everyone for turning up and making it such an enjoyable day.

All lined up in an orderly fashion well almost....

Peter Forrest was ready for a prompt exit

Others lined up in the firing line ready to
'fend' off reversing 'Zephyrs'

How many people can you get in the 'cockpit' of a narrow boat??

At least 'Trixie' had her 'Sea' Legs!!
Thanks to Brian Teece for the following pictures (don't blame him for the captions though!)

What do you mean it's hard work!

Oops..anyone get the Key?
